Take a closer look at how construction of the East County Advanced Water Purification Program is impacting you with this brief overview.
Purified water pipeline construction is heading west on Mast Boulevard after Magnolia Avenue in Santee as well as on Lake Jennings Park Road from Laurel Canyon Road to El Monte Road. Expect flaggers and/or lane closures due to drilling, trenching, material excavation and the installation of pipeline. There will also be an increase in noise. Work is underway on Mapleview Street from Pino Drive to Ashwood with a lane closure in place. Please use caution around the work zones. Crews will be on site Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 4 pm.
The west side of Santee lakes 1 through 7 is closed to pedestrians and vehicles from February 20, 2024 through the end of March 2024. The east side of the Park remains open.
The Stowe Trailhead is temporarily located at the cul-de-sac on the north end of Strathmore near Birchcrest Boulevard due to pipeline construction on Ganley Road. Signs are posted at this trailhead asking visitors to please park on Ganley instead of parking in the cul-de-sac or along Birchcrest. Trailhead access at the Fanita Parkway and Ganley intersection will be restored once pipeline construction is complete.
After a 10-month closure, the Flume Trail at Lake Jennings in Lakeside is reopened. It'll remain open until July 2024. At that time, it'll close for roughly two months to allow for additional construction.
There are roughly 85 concrete pours remaining that will result in truck deliveries before 4 am at the main project construction site north of Santee Lakes. The team will remain as quiet as possible during these early morning activities.
